My Mom died early at age 52, 

but I remember her smiling at the television.

I would tease her about it, 
but knew she related to the people on the screen.

In my Dad's later years, he lived with us.

I noticed that his emotions were closer to the surface.

Now I see where I come from ...

tonight I watched a tv program about bullying

and teared up watching these hurting bullied teens.

You see, anymore ... I can cry at the drop of a hat!
