So the plan was a 24 hour getaway to Palm Springs!
Leaving Anaheim Hills around 11 AM ...
with WonderWoman as pilot.
Daughter #2 didn't feel quite 100%,
WW prescribed "medicine ball" drinks for everyone.
No sickies allowed ... for 24 hours anyway.
Riding in the co-pilots seat ... perfect!
Gray and overcast in the OC, but ...
there were beautiful blues skies ahead.
Good friend Denise was en route from Yuma, AZ ...
a three hour drive. Now that's a good friend!

Meeting for lunch at the best Las Casuelas!
I rate it as the world's best taco.
Denise judges by chili relleno & she gives thumbs up.
The first dessert surprise ...
which required a walk to the art festival.

A hug-fest! Best birthday ever.

We checked in at Rancho Las Palmas, Palm Dessert.

Bags dropped, changed & off to El Paseo
in Palm Dessert to look & shop.

Half way through the 24 hours and ready for bed.
Monday morning & dear Denise on our patio watching the ducks.
After a delicious breakfast at Elmer's we started home.
Denise three hours to Yuma and husband, John.
We three made a detour to the Cabazon Outlet ...
and the adidas outlet to be specific!
While waiting,
I took close-ups, that's what I do, sometimes.

And so, in 24 fun packed hours I was given the best birthday ever.
